The District International Charity for 2019-20 is THE HIMALAYAN TRUST UK District 19 International Project for this IInner wheel year 2019/2020 is centred in Nepal. It is proposed that we sponsor the project to construct a girls’ toilet at Lelep school in the Taplejung Province of Nepal. This school has a hostel to accommodate girls who travel some distance from home. The toilet will also provide facilities for washing in private, and disposing of sanitary products. The second part of the project, which will also cover a further three schools in the area, will be to provide education to girls and mother groups to explain their period and how to manage it in the most hygienic way, privately and with dignity. Approximately 250 girls in their early teens will benefit.
